Dr. Shantana  Robinson has over 25 years experience in business capacity! She has met with over 600 businesses  to assist them with filling in the gap for what's next!

Dr. Shay recently received the SABOC MED Week "Contracting Excellence Award" and was named NAWBO "Woman Business Owner of the Year."  She was recently inducted into the esteemed BOW Collective, which is an organization and sisterhood of the Nation's top 1% of small business owners.  While working with the county- Bexar County’s UTSA AABE Disparity Survey identified a gap in the availability and capacity of African American-owned businesses in the Alamo region. Because of the survey recommendations, the County’s Small Business and Entrepreneurship Department created the African American Business Enterprise Initiative (AABEI) to help stimulate local outreach, economic growth, and development. Dr. Robinson’s position was created out of this.

During her undergraduate years, Shantana attended Texas State University, then called SWT, where she received her Bachelor’s in Business Science and Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Business Management. Being the natural-born leader that she is, she went on to pursue and receive her Masters of Business Science and Management with Honors from Colorado Tech University. She received her Doctorate in Business Administration from NCU after doing extensive research on African American female business owners in the San Antonio area. She also received numerous Graduate-level certifications in IT management, time management, project management, and change management. She has served on numerous executive boards for Mervyn’s and Homegoods. Respectively. She has been a member of numerous corporate Who’s Who lists as well as a trainer and executive manager/recruiter/speaker for numerous retail corporations, bringing in new college management talent to their ranks throughout Texas. Via MFAD, she creates business plans, does market research and surveys, attends bid meetings, offers business advice, connects agencies and resource partners, and trains companies for growth!

 Furthermore, she was an adjunct instructor at both the Sanford Brown San Antonio and ITT Tech San Antonio, where she taught business management, pricing strategies, Project Management, Inventory planning, and over 18 other college business courses. She is also a part of a research team that has won 11 national awards for consumer marketing, analytics, and movie marketing. Dr. Robinson has also had her own radio show entitled “Savvy Sistas” broadcasted on station 630AM at 1230 PM centrally. She is also a member of FFC, The 10TH House, IFWOC, Female Founders For Good, and Sisters of the Academia. She also runs the largest BOB FB group in San Antonio, Texas, with over 800 black-owned firms that are members! She believes that you are only as big as your dreams, so dream big! Shay lives by the motto of “Be happy with who you are today, who you were yesterday, and who you will become tomorrow. Live your life as if it’s GOLDEN!
